SUPPORT JTPAC

It is indeed a moment of great pride for me to welcome you to the inauguration of the JT Performing Arts Center (JTpac).

JTpac is the fulfillment of a vision to give art forms a habitat where they can thrive and flourish. It will be a unique platform that will help these art forms regain their rightful place under the sun and a place where the world can rediscover them. For me, especially, the Center is the realisation of a long cherished dream and as an artiste, I feel privileged to be part of this pioneering initiative that will give artistes from across the world an opportunity not just to showcase their talent, but enhance their lives as well.

It is a matter of great honour that JTpac will be inaugurated by seven illustrious artistes from Kerala who have dedicated their lives to different traditional art forms. These artistes will come together on one stage to light the ceremonial lamp signifying the auspicious beginning of a new era. These seven stalwarts including Kathakali artiste Kalamandalam Gopi Asan, acclaimed percussionist (Chenda) Mattannur Sankarankutty Marar, Mohiniyattom expert Kalamandalam Leelamma, rhythm master (Mizhavu) P.K Narayanan Nambiar, theatre stalwart Kavalam Narayana Panicker, Sopanam singer Janardhan Nedungady and Marathukali artiste Pokkan Panicker will come together like the seven swaras in a raga to bless the Center as it takes its first steps in the world of art. Their presence on the very first stage is truly inspiring. The inaugural programme will also feature 'The Rhythm' by Soorya Krishnamoorthy, celebrating the harmony and oneness of India.

For you, JTpac will be the beginning of a new journey of discovery - a journey that will help you unearth the richness of our artistic heritage, of which everyone of you is a proud owner.
